The staff, the breakfast, the shower, the bar, the location, the price - pretty much everything about this hotel was excellent. The cooked breakfast was arguably the best I've ever had at a chain hotel and the super friendly staff were continuously checking whether anything needed replenishing. I even overheard one customer saying that he hadn't slept that well the previous night because it was too warm and the staff went out and bought him a lighter duvet!! As already mentioned the staff were always smiling and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was perfectly remade on our return from breakfast - perfect! When we're next back in this part of the UK to visit family this place will easily be my first port of call for accommodation.

The staff are all amazing ! Extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The free breakfast included sufficient variety to cater for all tastes and needs. The entire environment was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The wifi connection was free, fast and spot on ! with no episodes of loss of connection There was ample parking and the location gave easy access to the town centre and the local retail park/shopping village. I would definitely recommend this place to solo travellers, couples or families. My initial length of stay was extended due to a delay in my move into a property. My stay was an interim measure having relocated from outside of the UK back to Essex. All of the staff remained helpful throughout. Thank you !!

I wasn't expecting a Holiday Inn to be this good. The receptionist was very welcoming, the room was clean, comfortable (great bed and pillows) and a higher standard than I was expecting and, most of all for me, super quiet. I was impressed with the breakfast - nothing fancy but everything you want, done well. Included cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans etc. Car parking was seamless and free, and next to the hotel is a Toby Carvery, and a petrol station with an M&S. Hotel has a nice lounge and bar area. 15 mins drive to Stansted straight down a fast major road.

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. In fact, all staff were very nice. I was asked if I preferred ground or first floor, and was given a first floor room overlooking the car park. Not a problem as it was quiet and not overlooked. Breakfast was superb! Help yourself and weekends have cooked English to fill your plate. Very comfy and clean room and bathroom, with iron and hairdryer, and air-conditioning that you can set yourself. Fabulous location with a petrol station and a restaurant in hopping distance, just off the A120.

The room was large with a king-size bed and a sofa plus a couple of upright chairs. Shower was great. I love that the Holiday Inn Express still provides extra items such as an ironing board and iron in the room. The buffet breakfast is included in the room price and there's plenty of choice. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Parking is free and it was easy to find a space. There's a Toby Carvery on the same site which was a reasonably priced venue for our evening meal. So overall a really good overnight stay.
